Shot indoors at our botanical garden. Technically not perfect. I do not think there are halos, it is just backlit and has furry edges. I really think I got the composition right.
The composition is good. Pull back far enough to find the terminating point of the leaf and you probably introduce other unwanted elements. There's a little over-sharpening on the stem on the bottom in the back but you are so right about the lighting embellishing the furriness of the plant.
